The process involves drilling holes in the concrete area that has receded or sunk, mixing and pumping in a cementitious sand non-organic slurry of material to lift, support, and stabilize this are. Followed by patching the drilled hole with cement to match as closely as possible the existing finishes.
Note: This process is not for all concrete leveling situations. There may be limiting factors that need to be considered and evaluated prior to contracting.
Why is my driveway sinking? We are in South Louisiana and South Mississippi, where the soil, prior to construction, retained a good bit of water. Once the land was developed and concrete was overlaid, the soil was no longer able to absorb water from rain, and thus the ground began to shrink. This shrinkage happens over time and leaves voids under your concrete, which can cause cracking, sloping, or ponding. Left unchecked, it will often continue to sink until the unevenness becomes a tripping or bump hazard.
Once inspect and determine this process may be appropriate, we schedule a date with the owner to begin, weather permitting.
We will need access to a water source. We will saw cut any joint connection to any adjacent piece of concrete. We will drill multiple holes as we determine to place the concrete/sand slurry, mix the slurry, and begin pumping. Depending on the soil conditions, the slurry may begin to escape under the sides of the area being worked on. In that case, we will pump that area and come back 24-48 hours later, once the concrete has hardened sufficiently, and resume pumping to lift the slab area. This is not 100% successful, but works in most cases to raise the concrete to the elevation desired.

There is no way for us to know how much the soil under the area we just filled with the concrete/sand slurry will continue to recede. If it took years for that area to sink, then it will probably be the same for the area we just raised before it sinks again.
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer a guarantee on how long this will hold up. We can say that this method of pumping a mixture of cement and sand is superior to any other materials that may be pumped under your concrete driveway or sidewalk. Our pumping materials do not deteriorate.
